A warm welcome to the last evening of August. This artistic month episode starts with the picture I promised to send you in the last Counterpoint.
I took this picture while I was still living in Paris. I decided to go for a walk in the evening. Winter was near and the sun was setting earlier and earlier. It was unusually quiet in Montmartre. I enjoyed the atmosphere and felt calm. Away from the buzz and noise during the day.
What would you call this picture? Feel free to share it with the Counterpoint-community!
A counterpoint is something that acts as a counterbalance to something else. In music, this term refers to the addition of a second voice to an existing melody – a voice that acts as a counterbalance. That is why this second voice is also called a counter-voice.
This collection of recommendations, anecdotes, fun facts and more is a second voice - a counterpoint - to all the other voices that are telling you about what is happening in the world. This Counterpoint is for you, me and everybody else who just needs something to enjoy from time to time.
Let’s dive into Counterpoint in the artistic month of August!
August was a lot. My first big project was due today. I finished on Friday evening. And now I am a part of those people saying ‘I am not allowed to tell you yet’. So stay tuned. Only hint: crime. And some other stuff was going on as well. The most important one being my parent’s 30th marriage anniversary. Insane isn’t it?! They have been through so much together and have been holding each other’s hands all the way. Of course this made my thoughts go wild. Love, family and time passing by were taking up most of it. And as rarely as it happens, not even writing is helping me organize my feelings. So this Counterpoint episode is already coming to an end (as my thoughts are elsewhere).
A big hug to everybody. Tell your people that you love them.
XoXo,
cuddly August-girl
